Shae Mitchell

Principal Solicitor

Having worked in family law since her admission exclusively within the Illawarra region, Shae has recently founded Mitchell Family Lawyers. Shae holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance attained from the University of Wollongong. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University. Shae was admitted as a solicitor of both the Supreme Court and the High Court in 2015. She became a member of the Australian Association of Collaborative Professionals in 2023 and is a proponent of Collaborative Family Law Practice.

Shae participates in the UOW LUCY mentoring program each year and advocates for change in attitude towards family violence by speaking openly about her own experiences.

Shae has an enviable track record in providing sound and professional advice for her clients.  Shae knows that a family law matter may be her clients’ first contact with a lawyer and understands that they just want to move on with the next chapter of their lives.

For Shae, the best part of being a family lawyer is being able to help a client through the most stressful time of their lives and achieve a great outcome without high conflict, long delays or unreasonable expense.

Shae has been recognised by the Doyle's Guide in the Leading Family and Divorce Lawyers in Wollongong and Southern NSW for 2024.
